The song itself is really old as it was first appeared in 2001 by the girl group Zone. Yup! That’s a 10 years of history which also correlate to the date of the plot that is being played out. Moreover, Scandal (another Jpop girl group) did a cover for it in 2010. The releases of the anime version have no relations to the previous groups as it was sang by the seiyuu themselves in the series. The list as follows, Menma (Ai Kayano), Anaru (Haruka Tomatsu), and Tsuroko (Saori Hayami).
I like the original better by Zone with its sweet tones, not that I’m saying that the seiyuu or Scandal are not. If you listen closely Scandal actually gives out a bolder tone compare to others. However, I tend to sticks to the anime version some times as my moods dictates.
